Maegan Kelley, MSW

Clinical Therapist

I have over 14 years of clinical experience in working with individuals with mental health and substance abuse issues. I specialize in working with adults, adolescents, and youth with addiction, mental health, PTSD, grief/loss, and trauma issues. I also have experience working with women on fertility and various women’s issues. My philosophy of practice is to provide a strengths-based, individualized, and solution focused therapy, while also utilizing motivational interviewing techniques.

I graduated cum laude from Curry College with a Bachelor’s degree in Counseling Psychology, and a double minor in Creative Writing and Theater, before earning my Master’s degree in Social Work from Wheelock College.

For the past 11 years, I have worked with adults and adolescents as an addiction specialist at Adcare Hospital in Worcester. I have also worked in other settings such as MCI Framingham, inpatient rehab facilities for addiction treatment, and in various other mental health settings. I also have spent time working with children, couples, and families providing counseling. In my undergraduate work as a clinical intern, I worked with preschool-aged children providing play therapy in a Montessori school. For my graduate work as a clinical therapist, I interned at the Kitty Dukakis Treatment Center at the Lemuel Shattuck Hospital, and also worked for Advocates Counseling working with adults.

I strive to meet all my clients where they are in treatment and motivate them to create goals and work to achieve them through therapy. My philosophy is to use my experiences in both my practice and life to help develop a relationship built on mutual trust. When I’m not at work, I like to spend quality time with my family. You can find me relaxing by the lake or participating in local theater productions.

“I am a seasoned participant of therapy. I can honestly say that Maegan is by far my favorite. She is warm, compassionate, kind to the core and never once has given up on me. She gets my sense of humor and laughs with me when I need it but also sits with respect and grace when I’m struggling. I literally don’t know what I would have done without her over the last several months. I am so lucky and honored to have her.”

“I was against therapy for years, always thinking I could figure my problems out myself. Maegan showed me that asking for help is OK, and has shown me so many different ways to approach situations and to heal from past experiences. Her and Mindful Healing have helped me so much from where I started from and I look forward to continuing my journey with them.”
